Former Grambling State Wide Receiver Keith Jones Jr. Transfers To Penn State Football

Former Grambling State wide receiver Keith Jones Jr. has committed to transfer to Penn State, he announced on Instagram on Monday. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Jones was an unranked prospect in the class of 2024 out of Edna Karr High School in New Orleans. He didn’t receive an FBS offer, electing to begin his collegiate career at the FCS Grambling State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). In recent years, the Tigers have had numerous players transfer to the Power Five level and have had receivers make the jump to the FBS in three consecutive seasons.

After redshirting in 2024, Jones emerged as a top receiver in a run-heavy offense in 2025. While five players in the Grambling State offense had 35 or more carries, Jones led the way in the receiving department with 32 catches for 450 yards and five touchdowns, leading the team in all three categories. He was tied for fifth in the conference in receiving touchdowns and top-20 in receiving yards despite limited targets.

The 6’4″, 185-pound receiver is the second transfer to commit to Penn State from the FCS level, joining preferred walk-on Hunter Albright from Saint Francis. He is Penn State’s fifth overall wide receiver transfer and the first non-Iowa State wideout to do so.
