What Your Valentine’s Day Date Spot Says About You

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’ve drawn on years of experience to put together a list of what your State College date spot says about you.

Whether you’re a freshman celebrating your first Valentine’s Day in State College or a seasoned student who keeps going back to the same place, this list might give you some new ideas or make you rethink your past plans.

Snap Custom Pizza

Sick of dining hall pizza? Luckily for you, Snap accepts LionCash. We’ve all pictured that perfectly sized warm slice in hand across from our date. Safe to say, unless you’re still living off LionCash, it’s a very freshman move… in the best way.

Federal Taphouse

It says you’re going for a chill vibe at a reasonable price, but it also raises the question of whether your date deserves somewhere a little nicer. Then again, the giant pretzel might just save you.

Findlay Commons

We’re hoping this is a freshman-only kind of choice, but hey, at least you’ve got enough food options to keep the date busy all night. Plus, you can always wander through the market to grab snacks for a cozy dorm movie later, with the background noise of everyone pregaming for the frats. Still, do better; the White Loop doesn’t take that long to get downtown.

Big Chicken

We get that you’re hyped about the big opening (and the fact that they take LionCash), but no matter how crispy that chicken is, it still doesn’t exactly scream Valentine’s Day.

Champs

If your date brought you here, scratch that. They are probably trying to see what their ex is up to, especially on a Saturday. But at least you can always challenge each other to a game of pool to distract yourselves

2000 Degrees

At least you thought outside the classic restaurant box. This could actually be kind of cute. Maybe you’ll make matching pottery and have a permanent reminder of your very own Valentine’s Day memory at Penn State.

Allen Street Grill

This is definitely on the pricier side for a college town, but it’s a really solid pick. It’s a great excuse to dress up and fully embrace the Valentine’s Day experience, and don’t be surprised if you spot a few older Penn State alumni who first met here.

And that’s it, folks! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Feel free to use this as your guide for what to do (and maybe what not to do) on your date.
