Juwan & Chanen Johnson Emceeing THON 2026 Pep Rally

Former Penn State football player Juwan Johnson and his wife, Chanen, are set to emcee the THON 2026 Pep Rally.
Johnson suited up for Penn State at wide receiver from 2015 to 2018, redshirting his true freshman season. He appeared in 14 games his redshirt freshman year, snagging two receptions for 70 yards. In 2017, Johnson’s production skyrocketed.
He started all 13 of Penn State’s games and caught 54 balls for 701 yards and a touchdown. His performance put him at No. 19 on Penn State’s single-season receiving yards list and No. 12 in single-season receptions at the time. He ran it back in 2018 with seven starts in 10 games and 25 receptions for 352 yards and a score. He suffered an undisclosed injury and missed most of the back half of the year. Johnson closed his Penn State career ranked No. 27 in receiving yards with 1,123.
Johnson transferred to Oregon ahead of his 2019 redshirt senior campaign, but missed his first four games as a Duck due to injury. In Oregon’s final 10 games, he caught 30 passes for 467 yards and a career-high four touchdowns.
Johnson participated in the 2020 NFL Draft Combine. He went undrafted and signed with the New Orleans Saints, where he’s made a solid career for himself.
Sean Payton made Johnson switch to tight end after a lackluster rookie year lined up at receiver, and Johnson’s career has really benefited from the change. Johnson has accumulated 2,511 yards on 223 receptions and 21 touchdowns in 84 games as a Saint so far. He signed a three-year, $30.75 million contract extension with New Orleans ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
Juwan and his wife Chanen met at Penn State, where she was also on the women’s gymnastics team.
Juwan and Chanen run a TikTok account named juandchan with 3.2 million followers documenting their daily lives, relationship, and family. The couple has two daughters.
The Johnsons will emcee the THON 2026 Pep Rally, where Penn State athletics teams will battle with dance routines in one of the weekend’s premier events. In addition to its national championship win last year, Penn State women’s volleyball also took home the Pep Rally gold.
