THON 2026 Day One Recap

Well, folks, it’s officially Saturday. Day one of THON 2026 is in the books.

Friday afternoon and evening brought lots of action and excitement. In case you missed it, here’s what happened in the Bryce Jordan Center so far.

Fitz & The Tantrums Takes Over The BJC

That was electric.

Fitz and The Tantrums made an appearance at this year’s national headliner. They got the energy up in the BJC and killed it.

The band played all 18 songs, including “Out Of My League,” “I Just Wanna Shine,” and “HandClap.”

Dancers Enter Via Human Tunnel

THON’s annual human tunnel returned to welcome all dancers into the BJC.

The dancers moved from Holuba Hall to the Bryce Jordan Center as their friends and Penn Staters cheered them on.

The 2026 Line Dance Makes Its Debut

Be ready to hear this 46 times over the weekend. THON’s 2026 Line Dance is here, featuring many pop culture references, but thankfully, no labubus.

State College Renamed ‘City Of THON’

For the 12th time, State College Borough has been renamed the “City of THON” for the weekend by Mayor Ezra Nanes.

THONward State Moves Homes To OnwardStSports

Onward State’s THON-specific Twitter, THONward State, got suspended on Tuesday! We couldn’t stop live tweeting though, so we just moved on over to OnwardStSports for the weekend instead.
