Your Guide On How To Stay Fresh At THON

THON is one of the most unforgettable experiences you can have as a Penn State student. But let’s face it, it’s hard to stay fresh when dancing and standing for 46 hours. The last thing you want is to be that person who smells. With the right preparation, you can easily stay clean at THON.

To help you out, we’ve put together a few tips to ensure you smell like roses this THON weekend.

Shower Before Your THON Shift

If you know you will be at THON for hours, make sure you shower as close to your THON shift as possible. If you have breaks between your shifts, ensure you are showering between your shifts, too. Do not go all 46 hours without showering, because you are guaranteed to start smelling.

Pack Deodorant

Help yourself and the person next to you, and pack deodorant. If you are dancing, your deodorant is not going to last. Even if you put it on before your shift, deodorant is not meant to last for 46 hours. You can get the travel-sized deodorant at Target or CVS, but make sure to reapply when you can.

Pack A Change of Clothes

Pack as much extra clothing as you can. An extra shirt, a sweatshirt, a pair of socks, anything you can think of. Sweat builds up quickly, so at the halfway mark, change everything. This will ensure that you smell and feel your best throughout all of THON.

Pack A Hair Brush and Hair Ties

This one is for all the girls participating in THON. Every girl knows that having your hair down can cause you to overheat more quickly. If you plan on having your hair down, make sure to bring a hair tie just in case. Keeping your hair off your neck will be a game-changer.

Pack Gum Or Mints

Keeping your breath fresh is just as important as the rest of your body. It will be difficult to pack a toothbrush and toothpaste, so pack gum and mints to ensure your breath stays fresh. Especially if you plan on drinking coffee. No one likes coffee breath.

THON is all about supporting Four Diamonds and fighting childhood cancer, but it is also important that you are comfortable for all 46 hours. Stay clean to help yourself and those around you!
