Big Ten To Introduce Women’s Volleyball Tournament In 2026

As women’s volleyball continues to grow in popularity, the Big Ten has announced it will introduce a conference tournament to crown a champion among the 18 teams.
The top 15 teams in the conference will automatically enter the tournament.
The conference has been one of the most-watched in the sport, with eight of the nine most-viewed matches of all time featuring Big Ten teams. It has also led all conferences in attendance since 2007.
To accommodate the tournament, the regular season has been shortened from 20 games to 17, to allow each team to compete for a conference title.
Penn State has been a top competitor in the sport, most recently winning a national championship in 2024. The Nittany Lions will hope to be the first team to raise a Big Ten women’s volleyball tournament title.
The tournament will be held in Indianapolis from November 20 to 25, 2026, at the Fishers Event Center.
