Penn State & State College To Host Earth Day Events

Penn State and the borough of State College will host several events to celebrate Earth Day starting on Tuesday, April 21.
Sustainable State College will host the third annual Earth Day Celebration on Tuesday, April 21, from 5-9 p.m. at Sidney Friedman Park. The event will feature food vendors, live music, sustainable arts and crafts, and informational booths.
Also on Tuesday, the State College Borough will host a “lunch and learn” talk with Laurene Allen, a Goldman Environmental Prize winner. The event is free and open to the public, and will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the State College Borough Building.
On Thursday, April 23, Penn State will host the fourth annual Student Sustainability Summit. The event will start at 12:30 p.m. with informational booths on the HUB lawn, and will head inside at 3 p.m. for speakers and dinner. All events are free and open to the public.
The Ross Student Farm will host “Earth Day Birthday” on Friday, April 24, from 4-7 p.m. The event, focused on sustainability and farming, will have plants available for purchase, workshops on different plant species, and food vendors. Free transportation will be available for students, with buses running from the Berkey Creamery to the Student Farm during the event.
