Report: Former Penn State Hoops Guard Dominick Stewart Transfers To Richmond

Former Penn State men’s basketball guard Dominick Stewart is transferring to Richmond, per The Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Stewart was a three-star recruit out of Castaic, California, ranked No. 280 nationally in the Class of 2024, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. After getting offers from several Group of Five programs and taking an official visit to Butler, he committed to Penn State in September 2023.

He played a situational bench role for the Nittany Lions as a true freshman in 2024-25 and was one of just three scholarship players to stay for the following season, being rewarded with 24 starts in 32 games by Mike Rhoades. After a blisteringly hot start to the season from behind the arc, Stewart cooled off and finished the year averaging 6.6 points and 2.2 rebounds on 40.1% from the field and 34.8% from deep. His scored six 3-pointers in a road win against New Haven in November.

He joins a Richmond team that was among the worst in the Atlantic 10 in 2025-26, going 15-17 with a 5-13 record in conference play under longtime head coach Chris Mooney. He is the fourth Nittany Lion to find a new home out of the transfer portal, with Kayden Mingo transferring to Baylor, Freddie Dilione V heading to Georgia, and Mason Blackwood also transferring to the Atlantic 10, joining St. Bonaventure.
