Report: Former Penn State Hoops Guard Freddie Dilione V Transfers To Georgia

Former Penn State men’s basketball guard Freddie Dilione has signed with Georgia out of the transfer portal, per CBS Sports’ Chris Hummer. Dilione has one year of eligibility left.

Dilione was a four-star recruit out of Word Of God Christian Academy in North Carolina and committed to Tennessee for his freshman year. In his time with the Volunteers, he averaged only 1.7 points, 0.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists. He transferred to Penn State ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Dilione spent two years with Nittany Lions. He averaged 14 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while shooting 47.3% from the field in 2025-26. He played a key role for Penn State, but the program’s disappointing season made him try his luck in the portal for the second time in his career.

Dilione is the second Nittany Lion to find a new home out of the transfer portal following Kayden Mingo‘s transfer to Baylor. Georgia is now Dilione’s third collegiate team as he returns to play in the SEC for his final year of college ball.
