Penn State Women’s Volleyball To Play At AT&T Stadium August 27

Penn State women’s volleyball will travel to Arlington, Texas, on August 27 at AT&T Stadium, the team announced today. The Nittany Lions will participate in Spikes Under the Lights, a one-day tournament with two semifinal games and a championship in a three-set format.

Penn State will face SMU in the first semifinal match. The winner of that will play the winner of Nebraska vs. Florida in the title game for a share of a $1 million prize pool, which is the largest-ever award in women’s sports.

Each school will get $200,000. The winner will get an additional $200,000. The tournament will also be nationally televised, and results will not count towards teams’ regular-season records.

Penn State finished last season 19-3 and 12-8 in conference play. In the NCAA Tournament, the team won in round one against USF, but then got swept by Texas in round two.

Despite losing last year, Penn State won the NCAA National Championship in 2024 and has been a nationally-recognized powerhouse for years.

Penn State is also set to play against Kentucky at Wrigley Field in an outdoor event where Nebraska will play against Vanderbilt.

Tickets go on sale on May 8 and can be purchased here.
