Former Nevada Guard Skylar Durley Transfers To Lady Lions

Former Nevada guard Skylar Durley has signed with Penn State women’s basketball, the team announced Monday. Durley is the reigning Mountain West Freshman of the Year.

Durley paved her way to the top in her freshman year by averaging 11.8 points, six rebounds, and 2.3 rebounds per game. She started all 31 contests for the Wolf Pack and averaged 31.9 minutes on the floor. She scored her career high against Utah State in the regular-season finale with 22. The 5’9″ guard added 28 steals and seven blocks en route to a Mountain West All-Freshman team selection.

“The addition of Skylar really strengthens our team in many ways,” Tanisha Wright said. “Skylar is a proven leader, showcased by the Mountain West Freshman of the Year. Skylar is a tough nosed guard who isn’t afraid to mix it up, evidenced by her ability to rebound the ball. We can’t wait for Skylar to bring those skills to the Lady Lion family.”

Wright’s first roster as Penn State’s head coach currently consists of NC State junior guard transfer Devyn Quigley, four-star guard Kamrah Banks, Nebraska junior center transfer Petra BoĆŸan, Vanderbilt sophomore forward transfer Ava Black, Georgia graduate guard transfer Enjulina Gonzalez, Durley, and Georgetown senior forward transfer Cristen Carter.
