Penn State Men’s Hockey Announces 2026-27 Big Ten Hockey Weekends & Non-Conference Schedule

Penn State men’s hockey announced its 12 weekend-long matchups against conference opponents for the 2026-27 season and its full non-conference schedule on Thursday.
After opening their season against Arizona State on the road in 2025, the Nittany Lions will once again open non-conference play on the road with a matchup against UConn on October 9 in the 2026 Ice Breaker Tournament. In addition to the Huskies, Penn State is set to play nine teams outside of the Big Ten, including Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac, Robert Morris, Canisius, Princeton, Army, and Niagara.
In the 2025-26 season, four of the Nittany Lions’ 14 losses came at the hands of non-conference opponents.
As for Big Ten play, the full schedule hasn’t been revealed yet, but the program’s first Big Ten weekend series will be a road trip to Minnesota from October 29 to November 1. Penn State’s other road series includes Michigan on November 12-15, Wisconsin on November 19-22, Michigan State on January 14-17, Notre Dame on January 28-31, and Ohio State on February 25-28.
Penn State is set to host six Big Ten weekend series at Pegula Ice Arena, starting with Notre Dame on November 5-8. The program’s other matchups include Ohio State on January 7-10, Wisconsin on January 21-24, Minnesota on February 11-14, Michigan State on February 18-21, and Michigan on March 4-5.
The Big Ten typically releases the full conference schedule in late August.
