Penn State Baseball Reveals 2027 Big Ten Schedule

Penn State baseball revealed its 2027 Big Ten schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

The conference slate will make up the bulk of the team’s 2027 schedule, which hasn’t been fully finalized. The Nittany Lions have already announced that they will be playing a trio of games at the 2027 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field from March 5-7 against opponents to be determined, but this is the biggest schedule release to date.

The Big Ten slate starts off with a road trip to take on Washington from March 12-14. Penn State took two out of three against the Huskies last season in its only Big Ten series victory. This will be the team’s first ever trip to Seattle.

The first home series will be two weeks later against Michigan State from March 26-28. Penn State did not play the Spartans in 2026, last playing them at home in late March 2025, losing two out of three.

The home stand continues with a three-game set against Maryland from April 2-4, looking to get revenge after the Terrapins took two of three to end the 2026 season a month ago.

The second road series in conference play takes the Nittany Lions to Iowa City, Iowa, to face the Hawkeyes from April 9-11. It’s Penn State’s first trip to Iowa in six years, and it’ll look to win their first series against the Hawkeyes since 2013.

The following week will be in Bloomington, Indiana, as Penn State faces Indiana from April 16-18 after not facing them in 2026. In a three-game series in early March 2025, Penn State took two of three at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The Nittany Lions return home the next week for a barnburner, welcoming perennial NCAA Tournament contenders Oregon to Happy Valley from April 23-25. After the Ducks swept the first-ever series between the two teams in Eugene, Oregon, last year, Penn State will look to take a chunk out of the 2026 Eugene Regional champions.

Northwestern comes to town from April 30 to May 2 after the two teams didn’t meet in 2026. Penn State took two of three in Chicago in March 2025.

A short trip to Piscataway, New Jersey, starts the home stretch, as the Nittany Lions visit Rutgers from May 7-9. Penn State took two of three last time it was there in May 2025, but lost two of three in the 2026 matchup at home.

The Nittany Lions will rekindle a rivalry with Michigan from May 14-16 in Happy Valley to close out the Big Ten home slate, hosting the Wolverines for the first time since March 2024. The two teams didn’t meet in 2026 and Michigan took two of three at home in 2025.

The likely regular-season closer will be out in Champaign, Illinois, as the Nittany Lions visit Illinois from May 20-22. The Fighting Illini took two of three in State College and swept the last matchup in Illinois, so Penn State will look for its first series win against them in 15 years.

The teams that Penn State will avoid this year include UCLA, USC, Minnesota, Ohio State, Nebraska, and Purdue. Three of those teams made the NCAA Tournament.
