Penn State Field Hockey Releases 2026 Schedule

Penn State field hockey is coming back soon, folks.

The program released its full 2026 schedule on Wednesday. The Nittany Lions will play 17 total regular season games with nine at home in Hannah Prince’s first season at the helm.

Penn State will play two scrimmages vs. Bucknell and at Penn on August 18 and 22 before officially opening the season at home against Virginia on August 28. The Nittany Lions will remain at home for two more games against Lock Haven on August 30 and Villanova on September 4 before hitting the road for the first time against Delaware on September 6.

Prince’s squad will return home after a weeks’ rest to face the NCAA championship runner-up Princeton on September 13 before opening its Big Ten slate against Maryland on September 17. The Nittany Lions will then embark on their longest road stand of the year with clashes against Monmouth on September 20, Bucknell on September 28, and Rutgers on October 2.

Penn State will play at home against Lafayette for the first time in 17 days on October 4 before hitting the road once more for weekend contests against Michigan State on October 9 and Kent State on October 11. The Nittany Lions’ schedule balances out with home contests against Ohio State and Michigan on October 16 and 18, respectively.

The blue and white will then travel to Indiana and Iowa on October 23 and 25 to close out the road schedule before hosting the reigning back-to-back national champion Northwestern Wildcats in the season finale at home on October 30.

Penn State went 7-10 and 2-6 in conference play in 2025, missing out on the Big Ten Tournament for the second consecutive year. The program did not renew three-year head coach Lisa Bervinchak Love’s contract.
