Penn State Alumna Katie Feeney Named To TIME 100 Creators List

Penn State alumna Katie Feeney was named to the “TIME100 Creators List of the World’s Most Influential Digital Voices,” ESPN announced on Tuesday.
Feeney was part of the sports, athletics, and fandom section, which also included names such as Dude Perfect, Jesse Riedel, and Donald De La Haye.
This is the second annual edition of the TIME100 Creators list, which highlights the most influential digital voices shaping global culture by driving modern media consumption and transforming how audiences connect and consume information.
Feeney is currently a sports and lifestyle content creator at ESPN, with 7.6 million TikTok followers on her personal account and another 1.3 million on Instagram.
In April 2022, while still a student at Penn State, Feeney was hired by the Washington Commanders as the NFL’s first-ever social media correspondent.
Feeney has attended and captured content at a variety of exciting events, including four seasons’ worth of Penn State football games and whiteouts, multiple Super Bowls, the U.S. Open, ESPN GameDays, the Masters, the Kentucky Derby, and multiple Major League Soccer events, just to name a few.
“Capturing viral content has become second nature to me. I have an eye for filming moments on and off the field that I know my audience would enjoy seeing,” Feeney told Onward State in 2025.
Throughout her time at Penn State, with the Commanders, and now at ESPN, Feeney has captured unique content, allowing fans to gain a behind-the-scenes view of the world of sports.
“I live an extraordinary life, but I don’t feel any different from my peers,” she said. “I’m very grounded. My family, friends — that’s what’s most important to me. And then these crazy opportunities come up. It’s like Hannah Montana. I feel like I’m Miley Cyrus the majority of the time, but then I get to travel and do the Hannah Montana things. I feel so fortunate.”
