Ella Langley took over the Bryce Jordan Center Friday night, bringing her “Dandelion” Tour to State College for a night filled with country music, high energy, and a bunch of singalongs.

Ella Langley has risen from an Alabama singer-songwriter to one of the top country stars. Her 2024 duet with Riley Green, “You Look Like You Love Me,” helped launch her successful career, along with her debut album, “Hangover”, and her newest album, “Dandelion”. Her rise to fame has now made her a headlining performer at the Bryce Jordan Center. She was joined by openers Gabriella Rose and Muscadine Bloodline.

Gabriella Rose opened up the night with “Necklace,” followed by “Range Rover” and “Bad Enough To Kill Me.” She also performed a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire,” showing off her rock influences behind her country sound.

Muscadine Bloodline followed, bringing their exciting energy to the stage with songs including “Rattlesnake Ridge,” “Dying for a Living,” and “Way Too High.”

“It’s Friday night, it’s about time to start acting like it,” Muscadine Bloodline member Charlie Muncaster told the crowd.

Penn State definitely met those expectations for the rest of the night.

The group also performed covers of “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World and “Black Water” by The Doobie Brothers.

Then, the lights went down, and it was finally time for Langley.

Langley opened her set with “Dandelion,” which immediately brought the crowd to their feet.

“If you give us 100%, we will give you 120%,” Langley exclaimed to the crowd.

From the start, the night felt less like a traditional concert and more like a conversation between Langley and the audience. She repeatedly engaged with her fans and embraced the Penn State atmosphere.

The BJC broke into a “We Are” chant multiple times before Langley asked the crowd to do it with her.

Her set moved from upbeat country songs to slower moments and covers, giving the crowd a chance to sing along throughout the night. Some standout performances included “Bottom Of Your Boots,” “Froggy Went A Courtin’,” and “Broken.”

One of the night’s biggest reactions came during her performance of “You Look Like You Love Me,” a song that helped Langley into the spotlight. The crowd sang along to the Riley Green collaboration as Langley delivered one of her most recognizable songs.

The show slowed down during “Porch Swing Angel,” when Langley asked Muscadine Bloodline to come back to the stage and perform it with her. Thousands of flashlights filled the BJC, creating a sense of unity and togetherness.

Shortly after, Gabriella Rose returned to the stage to sing a duet with Langley to “Butterfly Season.”

As the concert approached its final songs, Langley performed some top hits, such as “Be Her,””Choosin’ Texas,” “Loving Life Again,” and “Weren’t for the Wind,” before briefly leaving the stage. The crowd continued cheering until she came back out for the final performance of the night, “That’s Why We Fight.”

“If you’re old or if you’re young, and you have something that you think that you should be doing with your life – do the damn calling. Do the damn thing you have in your heart.”

Langley did just that. After following her calling and pursuing a career in country music, she found herself standing on stage in front of a sold-out BJC, with thousands of fans singing along to her music.
