One more game before Big Ten play, folks.

Penn State football will run back out into Beaver Stadium on Saturday to take on Buffalo after defeating Temple 27-9 in Philadelphia in Week 2.

Buffalo is 1-1 in 2026 and is fresh off a 33-20 loss to FIU in Pitbull Stadium in Miami. The Bulls are powered by fifth-year wide receiver Chance Morrow, who’s tabbed 218 yards and five touchdowns through two games.

Despite a closer-than-expected showing against the Owls a week ago, our staff thinks the Nittany Lions will comfortably take care of business as they wrap up the non-conference slate.

Brian Kriley (2-0): Penn State 38, Buffalo 6

Buffalo isn’t very good. There’s no reason to overthink this. Onto Wisconsin.

Ericka Apolskis (2-0): Penn State 67, Buffalo 9

Nittany Lions by a million.

Holden Mostofsky (2-0): Penn State 38, Buffalo 6

I won’t sleep on the MAC, so I’ll give Penn State under 40 points this time. I think the offense was slow last week, but the team needs to know where to improve.

If the passing game keeps its momentum and the run game takes a step up, I think the team can put up high numbers. Plus, the defense has been really great.

Jason Perry (2-0): Penn State 42, Buffalo 9

The Nittany Lions didn’t look their best on the road last week, but they should be able to perform back at Beaver Stadium.

Hopefully some adjustments will be made after the slow start against Temple.

Karlee Feger (1-0): Penn State 42, Buffalo 7

After last week’s slow start, I think the Nittany Lions will come out of the gate strong and stay hot all four quarters.

I expect another masterclass from Rocco Becht and a big Penn State W.

Melanie Thalhimer (2-0): Penn State 34, Buffalo 0

Another week, another game where the Nittany Lions end up on top!

After a strong performance by our defense in Week 2, I’m eager to see Penn State stop Buffalo’s offense on each drive and hopefully keep the Bulls off the scoreboard.

Let’s make it 3-0!

Michael Zeno (2-0): Penn State 52, Buffalo 10

I got a bit overzealous with the Temple prediction, but all indicators say this is the most lopsided of the non-conference matchups.

I can’t imagine Matt Campbell and Co. will let another sleepy half like last week happen again against a team they know they should beat easily.

Cadyn Gill (2-0): Penn State 48, Buffalo 9

No more playing with your prey, Nittany Lions…

After battling “adversity” in its Week 2 matchup against Temple, I expect Penn State to return to Beaver Stadium with urgency and a mission to correct the smaller mistakes that have been plaguing the ground game in particular.

Becht will continue his hot start and get the blue and white out to a nice lead.

Ideally, the first-stringers are out of the game by the end of the third quarter so the young bucks can get some crucial reps late in the game before the tough sledding of Big Ten play begins next week.

Jamie Lynch (2-0): Penn State 49, Buffalo 7

This game should not be close.

Buffalo is returning just 30% of its production from last season, good for dead last in the MAC. While the Bulls put up a fight the last time they came to Happy Valley, I don’t envision a similar fate this time around.

This is a team that beat Albany by just four points to open the season. I understand that competitive balance in college football is on the rise, but come on.

I’m looking for Penn State to establish some semblance of a run game early on. It’s been a clear weak point of this team, and the Nittany Lions have just one non-conference game left to iron it out.

Give me a Carson Hansen 50-yard tuddy to jumpstart the rout on Saturday. Penn State wins and covers.

Oscar Orellana (2-0): Penn State 42, Buffalo 10

Penn State is sure to have flushed last week down the toilet and really made some deep corrections in practice leading up to kickoff against Buffalo.

The Nittany Lions have to establish the run early. We all know Becht can make it happen. Hansen, James Peoples Jr., Cam Wallace, and Quinton Martin Jr. have to get it going.

The Big Ten won’t allow Penn State any breathing room.

Other than that, I have a deep respect for Buffalo. I think the Bulls are a solid squad and well-run program. They have put up 13 points or more in each of the two programs’ last three matchups, dating back to 2007.

I think Buffalo will find the end zone early, but Penn State will prevent another score for the rest of the game.
