Nittany Lions In The NFL: Week 4 Roundup

Is it really Week 4 already?

While the current Penn State roster struggled under the Friday night lights against Northwestern, plenty of former fan favorites got the job done at the next level.

Here’s how the Nittany Lions in the NFL did this week.

Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pat Freiermuth caught three passes for 17 yards and a touchdown as the Steelers fell to the Cleveland Browns, 27-24, on Thursday night.

Freiermuth is tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns and tied for the second-most receptions so far this season.

Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts

Tyler Warren hauled in five receptions for 41 yards across the pond in the first of three NFL London Games. Warren leads the Colts with 23 receptions this season.

The Colts defeated the Washington Commanders 30-13.

Odafe Oweh, Washington Commanders

Pass rusher Odafe Oweh made only one tackle in the Commanders’ loss to the Colts, but it was a big one.

The 2021 first-round pick sacked Colts quarterback Daniel Jones on the first drive of the game, forcing a fumble and recovering the ball himself. The Commanders took an early 3-0 lead because of Oweh’s defense.

Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars

Brenton Strange led the Jaguars in receptions and receiving yards in the Jaguars’ 22-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Strange caught seven passes for a career-high 95 yards.

Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals

Mike Gesicki was the second Nittany Lion to find the end zone in Week 4. The nine-year NFL veteran caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals’ loss to the Jaguars.

The touchdown was Gesicki’s third of the season, putting him halfway to his career high of six.

Theo Johnson, New York Giants

Theo Johnson only caught one pass in the Giants’ 36-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals, but it was an 11-yard touchdown reception.

The 2024 fourth-round pick has just two total receptions this season.

Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley rushed twice for 8 yards and caught one pass for two yards in the Eagles’ 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

The star running back suffered a hamstring injury early in the game and is listed as questionable heading into Week 5.

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Chris Godwin caught a team-leading six passes for 31 yards in the Buccaneers’ 17-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Godwin was the most reliable option for rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels in his first start.

Joey Porter Jr., Dallas Cowboys

Before the first game of the week kicked off, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded former Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys.

Porter had not played in 2026 because of a back injury, but he made his season debut with the Cowboys on Sunday. Porter did not record a defensive stat in the 34-30 win over the Houston Texans.

Chop Robinson, Miami Dolphins

Chop Robinson made two solo tackles, including a sack, as the Dolphins fell to the Minnesota Vikings, 15-10.

Jahan Dotson, Atlanta Falcons

Jahan Dotson caught two passes for 54 yards and a touchdown on Monday Night Football. Dotson’s score contributed to the Falcons’ dominant 45-24 win over the New Orleans Saints.
