Penn State Football Linebacker Alex Tatsch Out For Season With Injury

Penn State football linebacker Alex Tatsch is out for the remainder of the 2026 season with an injury, Blue-White Illustrated confirmed on Tuesday.
The news comes just hours after Matt Campbell announced that Tatsch’s recovery timeline is unclear.
“You know, he got injured in practice. We still don’t know exactly where that is or how long that’s going to be,” Campbell said during mid-week media. “Hopefully, we’ll know a little bit more this week, and I think you guys all know what Alex means to that linebacker room.”
Tatsch was listed as questionable in the week leading up to the USC game and was ultimately ruled out.
Through four games this season, Tatsch recorded 11 total tackles, five solo and six assisted. He also recorded a sack in Penn State’s Week 3 win over Buffalo.
Although Tatsch was still being utilized as a rotational piece, the coaching staff had high praise for the sophomore ahead of the season.
“I think Tatsch has a chance to be one of the great linebackers of all time here,” Campbell said in February.
Tatsch’s injury marks the second consecutive year he has been sidelined. In 2025, he missed the Pinstripe Bowl after suffering an undisclosed injury.
