What Penn State Football Fans Can Still Look Forward To This Season

With the White Out in the rearview mirror and Penn State sitting at 0-3 in Big Ten play, Happy Valley is feeling a little more like a sad valley these days.
Though Penn State football fans are struggling through another poor season, there are still positives on the horizon for the Nittany Lions.
Here are three things Penn State football fans can look forward to.
Wins Will Come, Eventually
While it’s been a rough stretch for the Nittany Lions in conference play, the road ahead looks slightly reassuring.
Penn State takes on Michigan on Saturday, and though facing Michigan at the Big House isn’t a great matchup, Penn State can still win.
The Wolverines have looked like a shell of themselves. Michigan sits at 3-2, winless in the Big Ten — like Penn State — after falling to Iowa and Minnesota. The Wolverines are only over .500 due to a phantom second in the season opener against Western Michigan.
After the Big House test, the Nittany Lions face a Purdue team at home that has long been an easier Big Ten opponent. While Purdue looks better than it has in years past, it’s still Purdue, and this isn’t basketball.
After that, an early November away game at Washington will be logistically difficult, but the Huskies have also struggled. It still will be a hard matchup, but winnable.
Minnesota at home offers another competitive game.
The Golden Gophers have been hit or miss this year, but head coach PJ Fleck always seems to give the Nittany Lions problems when they face off.
Here’s the sweet part: Penn State ends the season against Rutgers and Maryland.
If all else fails, the Nittany Lions should finish the season with two wins over two teams that look like the Big Ten’s doormats.
Koby Howard’s Return
Oh yes.
The man, the myth, the legend: Koby Howard.
Penn State’s offense has looked slightly confused the past couple of weeks without its No. 1 wideout, and while the passing game isn’t the only problem, having Howard back will be awesome.
Outside of Chase Sowell, no other playmaker has made many explosive plays, and as we saw earlier in the season, that is what Howard specializes in.
Campbell said Tuesday that Howard’s return likely won’t be a conversation until after the bye week, but just the mere sound of his return should excite Happy Valley.
Discounted Ticket Prices
You know what comes with poor performances? Cheaper ticket prices.
White Out tickets were the cheapest they have been in years, finally making them accessible to a wide range of Penn State fans. Thankfully for fans, the discounted tickets don’t look like they will change any time soon.
The average get-in price for Penn State home games for the rest of the season is about $20, according to SeatGeek.
Even though the Nittany Lions’ play has been subpar, Beaver Stadium’s electric atmosphere makes the games worthwhile, and the low prices will let more folks experience it.
