Former Three-Star Penn State Football Quarterback Commit Will Wood Flips To Boston College

Former Class of 2027 three-star Penn State football quarterback commit Will Wood has flipped his commitment to Boston College, he announced Sunday.
He originally committed to the Nittany Lions in May.
“Thank you to Coach Campbell and Penn State for their belief in me. I have zero doubt they will turn things around and deserve the fanbase’s patience,” Wood wrote on social media.
The Westwood, Massachusetts, native is ranked No. 3 in the state, No. 30 among Class of 2027 quarterbacks, and No. 505 nationally, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings. His commitment came after another Penn State quarterback target, Peter Bourque, started trending towards other schools.
Wood’s flip comes after a horrid four-game skid for Penn State to open Big Ten play, fueled by particularly poor play from Rocco Becht. Becht tossed two interceptions and lost a fumble in the Nittany Lions’ Week 7 loss to Michigan.
Wood will join former Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien at Boston College. The Eagles were a frontrunner in Wood’s original commitment race, and he will end up staying home.
The Xaverian Brothers High School product is the first Penn State commit to flip during the 2026 season. The Nittany Lions still hold a commitment from 2028 four-star signal-caller James Armstrong.
