Former Three-Star Penn State Football Linebacker Commit Blake Betton Flips To Wisconsin

Penn State football’s 2027 recruiting class has taken another hit.
Former three-star Nittany Lion linebacker commit Blake Betton has flipped his commitment to Wisconsin, he announced Sunday. Betton committed to Penn State in April 2026.
The Shakopee, Minnesota, native is ranked No. 4 in the state, No. 35 linebacker in the Class of 2027, and No. 466 in the nation, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Betton made an unofficial visit to Happy Valley on October 10, when Penn State lost 31-23 to USC in the White Out.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder holds offers from many other Big Ten programs, including Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Washington, Nebraska, and Northwestern.
Betton is the second Class of 2027 recruit to leave the 3-4 Nittany Lions, after former three-star quarterback Will Wood flipped to Boston College on Sunday.
The Nittany Lions still hold 20 commits in Betton’s class, including fellow three-star linebacker Case Alexander. Alexander is ranked slightly ahead of Betton as the class’s No. 21 linebacker.
