Nittany Valley Symphony Set To Perform ‘From the New World’ Program In Eisenhower Auditorium November 12

The Nittany Valley Symphony is coming to Eisenhower Auditorium, folks.

The local symphony will perform its “From the New World” program on November 12 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

“From the New World” extends the symphony’s celebration of America at 250. The program features works by composers Sergei Rachmaninoff and Antonín Dvořák, whose lives changed while they were in the United States.

Ian Duh will perform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in his solo debut with the Nittany Valley Symphony. The piece shifts from darkness to optimism with a series of emotional passages.

The symphony will also perform Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9. The piece captures America’s beauty and spirit with both African American and Native American influences.

The Nittany Valley Symphony invites audiences to experience an evening of “discovery, beauty, and wonder.”
