Penn State Football Names Team Captains Against Washington

Penn State football named quarterback Rocco Becht, offensive lineman Anthony Donkoh, linebacker Kooper Ebel, and cornerback Audavion Collins team captains for its game against Washington at Husky Stadium, the team announced on Saturday.
Becht, Donkoh, and Ebel remain the cornerstones of this captain group, serving in the role for the ninth time in as many weeks. Collins receives the honor for the second consecutive week; coming off a win, it’s clear Matt Campbell doesn’t want to break up the leadership quartet that helped deliver Penn State’s first Big Ten victory of the season.
With Chase Sowell out last week and, of course, Koby Howard, Becht didn’t have his best yardage week, but he didn’t turn the ball over once. His stat line read 16-for-24 with 175 yards and a touchdown. Donkoh was part of an offensive line that was vastly improved in run blocking against Purdue, helping pave the way for Penn State’s 269-yard performance on the ground.
On the defensive side of the ball, Ebel continues to be a leader on what has been a struggling pass rush unit. He tallied three total tackles against the Boilermakers, one solo, and accounted for a pass deflection. Collins has quickly cemented himself as one of the most intriguing cornerback prospects in the nation. Last week, he added two total tackles and a pass deflection, but more impressively, the speedster picked up 11 yards of offense after taking the handoff on a jet sweep.
