The second Council meeting of the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments took place on last Friday and Saturday. They passed three resolutions and tabled another. On Friday night, Graham Spanier made a short speech and then took questions from the Council and the gallery.
It's that time of the month! The student government representatives from Penn State's 19 Commonwealth campuses will meet here for the second Council of Commonwealth Student Governments Council Weekend of the year. Council will take place in two sessions: the first, an informal one tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. in Heritage Hall (Graham Spanier will speak) and the long, formal one tomorrow from 9 a.m. to about 6 p.m., at the same place.
This Saturday, President of the University Park Undergraduate Association Christian Ragland and Governmental Affairs Executive Director Travis Salters will travel to Harrisburg. There, they will meet with representatives from the student governments of the 14 state-related universities in Pennsylvania to discuss forming a unified Pennsylvania Student Association between them all.
eLion, the course registration system (among other things) we all love to hate may have some changes in store. Members of the University Park Undergraduate Association's Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) have been working toward making big improvements to the system.
The University Park Undergraduate Association went about its usual business last night after successfully electing their first student representative for the State College Borough Council.
The Assembly passed three policies. The first clarified the operations of UPUA Legal Affairs, the second clarified the role of Executive staff and services, and the third created an official Facebook page for the UPUA.
Last night marked an historic event for the Penn State student community and State College residents, as the University Park Undergraduate Association General Assembly elected At-Large Representative Ben Pugh the first non-voting student representative on the State College Borough Council by a vote of 26 to 13.
