While I still have another full year at Penn State, there are thousands of friends, peers, and colleagues who will see the culmination of their Penn State careers this weekend. Joe Paterno’s passing, and State College’s heartfelt response has come at an unfathomable time in my life. The first 20 years I have been alive were spent almost entirely at my parents' residence just around the corner from the Paterno home. As a lifetime resident and Paterno neighbor, I have admired the deceased coach for many years.

With Few Options Nearby, Boots Reopens

Boots Dairyette has reopened in what remains of its former location in the south-eastern corner of the Graduate apartment building at the intersection of Beaver Ave and Atherton St. After a brief hiatus while the space was renovated, the convenience store, once a beacon for those seeking a late-night binge on the westside of town, has officially reopened under new management just in time for the spring semester.
