Last week we asked for your love letters from former boyfriends and girlfriends. Here they are. Annotations of how each relationship ended are quoted in italics underneath each letter.

Welcome back to the second installment of #MusicMonday, the remix. This week, we bring you four new songs from four Onward State staff members. Contributors this week are Melanie Versaw, Alex Federman, Sam Cooper and Matt D'Ippolito.

Last State Patty’s Day, 103 patients were treated at Mount Nittany Medical Center for alcohol-related emergencies; of those patients, 67% were not Penn State students. Most, in fact, were visitors from other universities. Similarly, last State Patty's Day, 289 people were arrested; of those arrested, 55% were enrolled at Dear Old State. What these figures suggest is that students from other schools want to come visit Happy Valley for State Patty’s Day as an excuse to act like total assholes--to get far too drunk and to commit crimes in the process.

Let’s be real, though—when we talk about being Proud Penn State Partiers, it’s not just about how drunk you can get—anyone with a liver can get utterly blotto and brag about how much they don’t remember doing. The real point of pride is having your cake and eating it, too.

THON may still be eight days away, but THON 2012 dancers and moralers kicked off the festivities last night at Rec Hall with the start of Color Wars. Here's what they did, who they saw, and how the night got them ready for THON 2012!
It's February and THON is just around the corner. And we all know what that means: State Patty's Day is lurking right behind it. There has been a lot of discussion over the last several years about the harms this "holiday" brings along with the drinking and merriment, including the potential disgrace to the reputation of our school and community. But this year, that concern takes on a whole new tone. So we at Onward State want you to take a moment and ask yourselves, "Do I care about the image of Penn State?"
