Nittany Lion Baseball Team Off to Fast Start

The Nittany Lion baseball team finished up a three game road trip to Kansas taking two of three games from 26th ranked Wichita State. The two victories over the team’s toughest opponent of the season improved Penn State’s record to 12-6.

Penn State Wrestlers Claim National Title

The Nittany Lion wrestling team claimed the national championship this weekend at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It is Penn State’s first title since 1953. Head coach Cael Sanderson, the Big Ten Coach of the Year, won his first team title as a wrestler or coach in just his second season at Penn State. The squad earned 107.5 points on the weekend topping second place Cornell with 93.5 and third place Iowa with 86.5.

Penn State Wrestlers Eye National Championship

Last weekend at Northwestern University, Cael Sanderson and the Nittany Lion wrestlers captured their first ever Big Ten team championship edging out Iowa by just one point. Andrew Long, Frank Molinaro, David Taylor, Ed Ruth, and Quentin Wright all claimed individual crowns. Penn State will send eight wrestlers to the NCAA tournament this weekend at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia in an effort to win a national championship for the first time since 1953. Among the five champions, Brad Pataky, Andrew Alton, and Cameron Wade also earned trips to the tournament.

Lions Win Seven of Nine On Road Trip

The Nittany Lion baseball team finished up their week taking three games out of four against Norfolk State in back to back doubleheaders. Penn State (10-5) just finished a 10-day spring break road trip winning seven games out of nine. During the trip, the Lions built a five game win streak, the longest streak the squad has had since March of 2008.

Wrestling Rolls into Big Ten Championship

This weekend at the Big Ten Championships, it’s all about the individual. Penn State’s ten wrestlers will take to the mats Saturday and Sunday at Northwestern University in search of Big Ten championships and a trip to the national tournament, which is March 17-19 in Philadelphia.

Moralers Keep Dancers On Their Feet

Approaching half way through THON weekend, dancers are starting to feel the fatigue. Moralers all over the floor are doing whatever they can to help their dancers stay motivated.
