It's difficult to classify State College's newest local band, One Shot Nicky. The band, currently a duo comprising PSU seniors Alex Pianovich and Justin Russikoff, plays the folksy, bluesy style that has come to characterize indie music lately. At the same time, their music embraces another popular trend — it draws influences from a wide spectrum of genres that allows one song to sound very different from another.
But if you ask them, they prefer to call their music "folkrockcountrypunk."
Most of us spent Thanksgiving break catching up on homework, spending time with friends and family, and taking time to recharge before finals. Penn State student Steve Huber did all of that, but he also threw on his running shoes to raise money for THON.
