Thanks to everyone who voted in Eventful's "Get Him to the Greek" contest, the cast of the upcoming comedy is headed to (slightly off) campus for an advance screening of the film.
The screening will be at 7:30 p.m. April 19 at Premiere Theatre 12 near the Nittany Mall. Unfortunately, the film has to be shown at an official movie theater, but the M Bus leaving Allen Street at 7:01 will make it to the theater on time. The next day Jonah Hill (Superbad, Knocked Up) and Russell Brand (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) will be on the HUB lawn to sign autographs, starting at noon.

Students who walked through the HUB-Robeson Center at this time last April will probably recall witnessing some pretty amusing head to head rap battles. The defunct Blue and White Rapper Contest has this year been replaced with the Penn State Idol Competition, for which voting began on Monday.
After reviewing all of the entries, a group of judges chose the sixteen best performers for the student population to vote on. Students interested in participating in the voting aspect of the contest can find the performers' auditions here.
Students have the opportunity to vote on their favorite prospective idols online until 4 p.m. on Friday, April 16.

Update 8:49 PM: Karn has resigned from his position. He was not present at the meeting. UPUA President Christian Ragland read his statement, found here.

Newly appointed UPUA Student Life and Diversity Chairman Noah Karn has come under fire for racial and gay slurs posted on his Twitter page.

For Tom Pennella, a junior studying Business Management, this Thursday is the realization of three years of work making people aware of National High Five Day. For the past two years, Pennella has been running a free lemonade stand to recognize this day.
"I just paid for it out of my own pocket," Pennella said, adding, "It was just a fun thing to do."
This year, Pennella's lemonade stand is being sponsored by The LION Radio Station. Along with the free lemonade at the HUB lawn from 12-4 p.m., there will be a free drawing for two tickets to the Pitchfork Music Festival.
"I'm glad The LION is sponsoring it...because I'm broke," Pennella said.

As if you didn't have enough concerts to distract you from your studies, SOMA is putting on their final show of the year April 26 in Alumni Hall. It looks like a stellar lineup, including rising indie stars Los Campesinos! and Cymbals Eat Guitars, as well as local favorites Kalob Griffin Band and Zak Sobel.
The show will be free to all students, you just have to show your ID at the door. After the jump, check out the video for the new single from Los Campesinos!, "Romance is Boring".
