
The Big Ten conference awards were announced on Monday evening. Coaches and media recognized the superb play of the Nittany Lions by naming 12 players to the All-Big Ten conference teams.

After watching Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg lead the Nittany Lions to an impressive 31-24 victory over the No. 14 Wisconsin Badgers, the Big Ten Conference honored him with his fifth Big Ten Freshman of the Week award. He is the first player since 2010, when Nathan Scheelhaase of Illinois won six times, to win the award five times in a season.

There were many plays throughout the year that stood out and, in some cases, will be remembered for years to come. I walked into Camp Randall hoping for Penn State to at least hang for awhile and not get laughed out of town. What happened, though, was entirely different, and I couldn't be happier to be wrong.
