The suspension comes in response to an unregistered social held on January 30 that "potentially endangered students" and involved drug and alcohol violations.

The fraternity will temporarily lose privileges including hosting socials, recruiting members, and new member activities while the Penn State Office of Student Conduct investigates several allegations of misconduct.
AEPi can still participate in Zone Days, but recruitment activities must be held on campus, with a representative from Penn State’s Office of Fraternity and Sorority Compliance present, and an educational consultant from the fraternity’s International Headquarters present. Social events with or without alcohol are still banned.
