Just in time for Memorial Day, U.S. News and World Report ranked Penn State's World Campus as the top online education program for veterans. (And just a note: Ohio State's program didn't come in until No. 7.)
Christopher Long, the College of Liberal Arts' associate dean for graduate and undergraduate education, was recommended to serve as the dean of College of Arts and Letters at Michigan State University.
The "advanced persistent threat" actors used malware to hack into Penn State's system, and the university disconnected the college's computer network from the internet in what President Barron called in a statement a "coordinated and deliberate response."

As has become a staple of his first year as Penn State president, Eric Barron took to the Internet to send a message to the Penn State community. This time, however, instead of urging civility, or shutting down a group of alumni-elected trustees, it was to thank Penn Staters for a wonderfully successful first year.
