
Bob Woodward, known for reporting on the Watergate scandal with Carl Bernstein, will speak at 8 p.m. on February 27 in Eisenhower Auditorium as part of the Student Programming Association’s Distinguished Speaker series.

We all know the new "Penn State Lives Here" campaign is a little hokey and certainly unoriginal, but what hasn't been discussed much are the more serious problems behind the marketing ploy. Last Friday, a focus group was held in Old Main with the creators of the campaign to discuss whether or not the slogan accurately represents diversity in the Penn State community.

HackPSU, Penn State's hackathon, will return again on April 4, 2014. Hosted by entrepreneurship accelerator Innoblue and the College of IST, HackPSU will last 36 hours this year in comparison to both of last year's hackathons which each lasted 24 hours. The entrepreneurship competition will fittingly take place during IST Startup Week.

About 20 trustees did indeed meet this morning at the Nittany Lion Inn -- and several others attended via conference call -- although none would offer comment on the contents of the meeting on the way out the door to the four waiting reporters. Penn State released a nonspecific statement soon after, saying that the trustees needed more time to look at candidates and offering no timetable for a selection.

For the first time in quite a few weeks, UPUA was in complete agreement about all new business at its general assembly meeting last night. The meeting was quick, everything passed unanimously, and everyone was free to move on to their respective Halloween celebrations.
