UPUA Coasts Into Winter Break

Our student government met for the last time of the semester on Wednesday night, and, for the sixth week in a row, the General Assembly was relatively quiet. This has to be some sort of record for UPUA. The decorum was downgraded to permit ugly Christmas sweaters instead of the usual coats and ties, so at least that eased some of the pain.

‘Penn State Lives Here’ and Culture Survey Expenses Top $1 Million

Penn State has spent $811,719 to date on the "Penn State Lives Here" marketing campaign, UPUA President Katelyn Mullen confirmed today. The Values and Culture survey, sent to all Penn State students and faculty, is anticipated to cost $418,000.

Date Set for Second Mt. Nittany Marathon

Students and townspeople who enjoy running won't need to go far to compete in a marathon next year. The date for the second Mt. Nittany Marathon has been set for August 31, 2014, where runners will get a chance to enjoy a scenic 26.2 mile certified course around the Nittany Valley's proudest and oldest symbol.

The HUB is Not a Movie Theater…For Now

Due to a tragic technological malfunction in the HUB auditorium, movies and other media will not be showed to the student populace, or anyone interested, until next semester. In the mean time, we are left to twiddle our thumbs as they order a new projector.

Sandy Hook Anniversary Vigil Set For Saturday

This Saturday at 7:00 p.m., Penn State will gather to reflect on the terrible events that took place that day, and to honor the families whose most precious gifts were stolen away from them by a man capable of unimaginable evil.
