Freshmen to get Second Chance

Freshmen who were shut out of the ticket sale last week will get a second chance tomorrow. Penn State Athletics is paying its penance by releasing an additional 1,500 seats for students to make up for the Ticketmaster glitch that had many freshmen upset. The Ticketmaster website crashed for the first 25 minutes of the freshmen sale Thursday leaving many freshmen and Penn State ticket office employees helpless and locked out of the sale.

Federal student loan interest rates are set to double on Monday as the Senate continues to shut down various proposals that would prevent the rates from instantly doubling from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent.

Penn State Students Drink Alcohol…Still

The surveys are in and the result is clear -- Penn State students are consuming alcohol at nearly the same rate as they have over the last six years, despite widespread university efforts to to combat the drinking "problem." Penn State Student Affairs Research and Assessment recently released its annual report on alcohol which randomly surveyed 1,174 Penn State students about their drinking habits in college. The results are similar to that of the survey's origin in 2008.
