
This week's Overheard post needed to incorporate both past and present Penn Staters, so it required more than one day to hear what both sects had to say (or yell, or slur). In fact, it took the whole weekend. From Beaver Stadium to Beaver Avenue, here are the best things that I overheard on Homecoming weekend in Happy Valley.

Finally, what we've been waiting for, is the reveal of the Homecoming King and Queen, elected by the Penn State students. The Penn State Homecoming 2013 King and Queen are Graham Zimmerman and Tracey Edouard.

Civic engagement in national elections among student-age voters is a long-standing challenge. Often students who live busy lives are indifferent about voting until days before the election. However, all too often in these situations, folks try to vote at the last minute without understanding the procedure involved.

Tonight, from 10 p.m. to midnight, Lion Ambassadors have asked fellow Penn Staters to participate in one of the schools most popular Homecoming events: Guarding the Lion Shrine. This event has been around since 1966, but this year, instead of just standing around the statue like a bunch of pansies, let's show everyone that we are a force to be reckoned with. Below are five idols that we should commission to guard our beloved shrine.
