I'm a firm believer that the dorm microwave is an underrated cooking tool. Unfortunately, it tends to be used solely for re-heating sad, lonely, frozen dinners for one. The fund is an emergency loan set up for students needing financial aid. After graduation, this loan is less expensive to pay off than most private loans.
