It's February and THON is just around the corner. And we all know what that means: State Patty's Day is lurking right behind it. There has been a lot of discussion over the last several years about the harms this "holiday" brings along with the drinking and merriment, including the potential disgrace to the reputation of our school and community. But this year, that concern takes on a whole new tone. So we at Onward State want you to take a moment and ask yourselves, "Do I care about the image of Penn State?"

You can always tell that the career fair has arrived when flocks of students in wrinkly suits are seen carrying around bright tote bags filled to the top with cup koozies, water bottles, pens, notepads, and t-shirts. Yesterday, I was on a mission: No, not to get a job, but to find the best free swag the career fair had to offer.

A few years ago, Super Bowl ads were just another fun part of the “holiday” that we call Super Bowl Sunday. Now, especially for young people, they pave the way for discussions that everyone can partake in. No matter what your major, it is easy to give your input.

It's that special time of year again! Spring Career Day begins today at the Bryce Jordan Center, and will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow.
