Hundreds of students took to Facebook and Twitter last week in an attempt to raise money for THON. This was the second such social media campaign in the last month, the first being the #CyberCanning movement which attempted to make up for the cancelled third canning weekend in January.

On February 20, 2011, a filled to capacity Bryce Jordan Center crowed erupted when the THON 2011 total was revealed: $9, 563,016.09. The Donor and Alumni Relations committee is responsible for maintaining and (hopefully) increasing this number every year by making sure all donors are individually thanked and have a positive experience when it comes to donating to THON.

As many of us saw throughout the day on Friday through Facebook and Twitter, THON was able to make it onto national TV thanks to some very dedicated students. At around 8:00 on Friday morning Al Roker introduced the TODAY Show viewers to the cause that we all hold very close to our hearts. Featured on national television were Andrew Lambert, Donor and Alumni Relations Overall Anuj Upadhyay, Supply Logistics Overall Pat Howley, and THON 2012 Overall Chairperson Elaine Tanella.

Whether you are a dancer or committee member or you simply plan on spending THON weekend as a supporter in the stands, it is important to prepare yourself for the big event. Mental preparation is extremely important, but don't forget about your body; there are very few negatives to being physically fit!

Today is the last day to turn in dancer mail to the Mail Call office in 324 HUB. You can find out all the details to help to get those last minute letters in after the jump.

THON may still be eight days away, but THON 2012 dancers and moralers kicked off the festivities last night at Rec Hall with the start of Color Wars. Here's what they did, who they saw, and how the night got them ready for THON 2012!
