As many of us saw throughout the day on Friday through Facebook and Twitter, THON was able to make it onto national TV thanks to some very dedicated students. At around 8:00 on Friday morning Al Roker introduced the TODAY Show viewers to the cause that we all hold very close to our hearts. Featured on national television were Andrew Lambert, Donor and Alumni Relations Overall Anuj Upadhyay, Supply Logistics Overall Pat Howley, and THON 2012 Overall Chairperson Elaine Tanella.

It has been a trying three weeks for the Penn State basketball team, but they put an end to a five game losing streak Saturday in an impressive fashion. Today, during the hearing on bail conditions for Jerry Sandusky, Onward State staffers in Bellefonte used the hashtag #PSUcharges to classify their tweets of the coverage. #PSUcharges was the hashtag created by local media sources when the charges against Jerry Sandusky AND Tim Curley and Gary Schultz were made public on November 5th. Some who follow Onward State wanted a change in the hashtag to #Sandusky, presumably because of the prevailing thought that Jerry Sandusky "does not represent Penn State". We explain our continued use of the hashtag after the jump.

Judge John M. Cleland heard five separate motions this morning from Jerry Sandusky’s defense team and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Attention, Penn Staters: the wait is over. Penn State Memes has finally arrived. You will no longer be forced to look at photos with seemingly pointless jokes about other colleges that you do not understand every time you sign onto Facebook. Instead, your timelines will finally be flooding with the ever-popular “Most Interesting Man in the World” and “Y U NO Guy” accompanied by familiar phrases pertaining to Penn State life.

Whether you are a dancer or committee member or you simply plan on spending THON weekend as a supporter in the stands, it is important to prepare yourself for the big event. Mental preparation is extremely important, but don't forget about your body; there are very few negatives to being physically fit!
