Ten Questions With Awkward State

One of the newest Penn State parody accounts on the rise is @AwkwardState. With a modest 389 followers, Awkward State’s first tweet appeared on July 17th and their bio consists of the informative message of “L V U PERN STAT." Onward State wanted to learn a little bit more about the self-proclaimed #1 fan of Penn State, full of awkward gramatical errors and extreme naivety. Here are ten questions with @AwkwardState.

The Cirque Comes To Town: An Interview with Maxime Charbonneau

As you may know, the Cirque du Soleil is coming to State College on Tuesday, April 24, to perform "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour". This show is the largest production ever at the BJC, and will combine the traditional Cirque du Soleil acrobatics and gymnastics with live music to create an experience unlike any other show yet. I had the chance to sit down with Maxime Charbonneau, the main publicist for the tour, to ask him more about the show.

10 Questions With The Nittany Lion

Last week, we were lucky enough to score a little one-on-one time with the "symbol of our best" -- the one and only Nittany Lion. We decided to ask him a few questions to get to know him a little better. Check out this video to find out what he had to say!

10 Questions With Sam Palser

They spend hours upon hours underwater and usually wear the intoxicating aroma of chlorine. Having shared a bathroom with a swimmer for most of my life, I can say without question that swimmers are a unique species. I caught up with one of my favorites, Penn State's Sam Palser, before she competes in this weekend's NCAA Championships. SPOILER ALERT: She loves chips and salsa.

10 Questions With Gymnast Sharaya Musser

Sharaya Musser is having a tremendous season for the Penn State women's gymnastics team. Musser has taken first place in the all-around competition in all seven meets this year. She has also won four Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honors this season. Her ability to perform well on all four individual events has helped Penn State earn the No. 10 ranking, as well as five victories in seven meets. Onward State got a chance to speak with Musser about her season, gymnastics and even dinosaurs.

10 Questions with Joe Buyer and Ronnie Byron

When many of us in the Penn State community tried to explain, in words, our emotions and thoughts about the Jerry Sandusky scandal; we simply could not. As late-teenagers and twenty-somethings, it was not easy to voice feelings about something so delicate and foreign to most of us.

Joe Buyer, also known as Joe Conrad, and Ronnie Byron had different plans.

The two Penn State students wrote, produced, and played on the inspiring track "Childhood Dreams." They used music as a coping tool and tribute for victims of sexual abuse everywhere. The video, filled with images from one of the most emotional weeks in PSU history, has reached 23,250 views on Youtube.

Onward State sat down with both of them to discuss the song.
