Last night's THON Band Bash had twice the usual number of winners.
5 Cherry Lewis and Dave Joyce and the Slow Pitch Band were both named winners of the six band competition. THON Band Captain Kevin Swanson explained to the Collegian that the decision was simply too hard to make. The bands join 9 other performers scheduled for the 46-hour event (with line dances and the sweet jams of Larry Moore filling providing additional music).

On Thursday night six bands will fight for a chance to perform during THON 2011. The event will be in Alumni Hall in the HUB, and doors will open at 6:30pm. While admittance is free, donations will be accepted at the door.
The winning act will be determined based on judging by THON Entertainment Captains and crowd response. The winning band will join nine other performers THON weekend in the Bryce Jordan Center for a chance to perform in front of thousands of people.

Tonight at the Bryce Jordan Center, Penn State Men's Basketball will face off against #16 Illinois in its 3rd of 5 consecutive games against ranked opponents.
In addition to the intrigue that comes with playing a quality opponent, the game has added value in that all student ticket sales will go towards THON.
Tickets are $5. You can purchase on at the HUB today, or at the door tonight. So make sure you bust out your fanny packs, crazy colors and big pink Atlas hat (if you're lucky enough to have one), and head to the BJC at 9:00 to cheer on the team.

You begin wondering how on earth you’re going to get involved this semester, and then you pass a table in the HUB urging you to sign up for Sorority Recruitment, and wonder, “Why should I be in a sorority?”
