Gamers Arena to Hold Opening Cermonies
A new video game store will press start and begin life in downtown State College this week. Located at 421 East Calder Way, Gamers Arena should provide the perfect alternative to those on campus who don’t want to take a bus to purchase murder simulators. The store is celebrating not being GameStop with a grand opening bash tomorrow, the first of October.
According to the Gamers Arena site, it was founded by a couple of guys that were tired of dealing with “corporate gaming.” Rather than taking the conventional route of eating tofu and not showering, these dudes fought the corporate machine by opening a small business. The opening party will run from 3 to 8 p.m., and will feature food, tournaments, prizes, and music by B94. I suggest doing your part in supporting a local business by stopping in with middle fingers extended and pointed toward corporate America.
