THON Week Kicks off Today

With a little less than a month until our favorite weekend of the year, this week will offer a variety of events for students to get involved and hyped for THON.

Tuesday:

The annual THON Bowling event will be held at Northland Bowl (1521 Martin Street, State College, PA 16803) from 8:30 PM to midnight. Each game costs $3.50 and makes a great activity for Committees or just as a fun way to pass time with your friends. And a portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Four Diamonds Fund.

Wednesday:

From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM there will be yet another Merch Sale in the HUB. With the third canning weekend coming up, this is a great opportunity to buy some new (warm) gear to show off your THON spirit.

While you’re in the HUB, help saves lives and raise money by donating blood. TDX and ADPi will be hosting a blood drive from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in Alumni Hall.

Also, grab some ice cream at Coldstone FTK from 5 to 10 PM–30% of proceeds will go towards THON. Indulge yourself while helping raise money for THON.

Thursday:

Bring all of your friends to the THON Band Bash in the HUB from 7 to 10 PM. This completely FREE event is a battle of the bands which will help decide who gets to play on stage THON weekend.

The countdown continues: we’re just over 31 days to THON… And this week, we can start to get excited FTK!

White Out Coming To THON

When it comes to doing creative and cool things- Penn Staters do it the best. When we want a White House at Beaver Stadium, we get 110,000 people to wear all white. When we want to help beat cancer, we raise millions of dollars and dance for 46 hours to help ease the burden on pediatric cancer patients and their families. In a few days, Penn State will have the chance to combine both of these things and white out THON 2012. It has been spreading around campus and social media sites that for the first time in THON’s history, the Pep Rally will be a White Out.
