
According to a recent Huffington Post article, Penn State is ranked #2 on The Princeton Review's College Rankings of "Financial Aid Not So Great." This ranking puts PSU just behind New York University (#1) and in front of the University of Maryland (#3). Penn State is also one of three Pennsylvania universities that make the top ten on this list, including Duquesne University (#6) and Villanova University (#8).

With the help of ScanEye -- a website that monitors public torrent usage based on IP addresses -- Torrent Freak obtained a list of the most active universities using torrent networks. Penn State University ranks 25th in the country on the list with 381 "hits" since last November.

Most of you probably haven't heard the name of J.M. Coetzee. Regardless, it's still a big deal, since Coetzee, an acclaimed South African-born author, will be on hand at Penn State on Thursday evening to be honored with a medal by the Institute of Arts and Humanities, as well as to give a reading from some of his works. The ceremony begins at 7 p.m. in the State Theatre.

We're already halfway through a very brisk autumn here in Happy Valley. The trees on campus have taken some gorgeous golden, orange, and red hues, and the ground is covered in tempting piles of leaves, just begging to be jumped into. 'Tis the season for hayrides, Halloween parties, and Thanksgiving feasts. Drink accordingly.

We've all been there. In order to satisfy Gen Ed requirements, we've all sought out the easiest class possible to make this nuisance more bearable. With all the tough classes in majors, no one wants to take an even harder class that doesn't even relate to their intended career choice.
Unfortunately, not everyone can get Gen Eds that are easy enough for Paul Jones to get an A. Our staff compiled a list of "easy" Gen Eds that everyone should avoid. Here are their horrible experiences:

The Senate met yesterday in the Kern Building to discuss and vote on two motions that would send statements of disapproval to the NCAA on behalf of the Penn State faculty. Both motions seemed to garner very little verbal support, and neither passed following a vote.
