Two Cheerleaders Involved in Paige Raque Incident Removed from Team

Two cheerleaders have been removed from the varsity team as a result of the incident leading to the serious, five-story fall of fellow cheerleader Paige Raque in September 2012.

Onward State has learned that two cheerleaders who live in Calder Commons have lost their spots on the team because of their involvement in the accident that caused Raque to fall from a 5th story window. The party, which provided alcohol, was hosted at the teammates’ apartment. Onward State is not releasing the names of the two cheerleaders because no criminal charges have yet been filed.

Police have investigated Raque, although no charges have been filed against her to date. Police Chief Tom King has previously said that charges will be filed for furnishing alcohol to minors against multiple people involved in the incident, although no charges have been filed yet.

The coaching staff could not be reached for comment on the matter. Raque is recovering at her home in Kentucky (and doing quite well, from all accounts.)
