Penn State to Face UCF in Primetime

The Nittany Lions will take on the University of Central Florida Knights on September 14th with a 6 p.m. kickoff under the lights of Beaver Stadium.

As announced by the Big Ten conference and GoPSUSports today, the Central Florida game will be Penn State’s first primetime match up of the season. Penn State will also play its Homecoming game against Michigan and visit Ohio State during the primetime broadcast slot.

The contest, which will be the Lions’ third of the season, will be shown on the Big Ten Network. It will mark the network’s first primetime broadcast from Beaver Stadium.

Penn State is 2-0 against UCF at Beaver Stadium after two games in the early 2000’s. This will be the first meeting against the Knights under Bill O’Brien, who worked as an assistant coach under UCF Head Coach George O’Leary during O’Leary’s time at Georgia Tech between 1995 and 2001.

Remaining unannounced kick off times for the 2013 season will be announced as the season approaches.
