Police Identify Reported Meridian Underwear Thief

State College Police Department investigators identified a suspect today in connection with a recent case of theft in the Meridian apartments, according to reports.

The alleged thief was caught via surveillance video taken in the lobby and laundry room of one of the Meridian buildings. The video, which was captured on Saturday night around 10 p.m., depicts the suspect removing women’s underwear from dryers in the building’s laundry room.

Video shows the suspect, who police believe to be between 30 and 40 years old, wearing a Orange County Choppers sweatshirt. He is described as a heavier bald man with a light colored goatee.

According to Lt. Keith Robb of the State College Police Department, investigators were able to identify the individual through a tip after initial media coverage. The suspect’s name will be released once charges are formally fired.

Police say the alleged thief does not reside in any of the Meridian Buildings.
