State College Experiences Flooding
State College just went from dry to soaked in about 10 minutes. The Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for South Central Centre, East Central Blair, and Northern Huntington Counties until 5:30 p.m., and forecasts say that more scattered thunderstorms could be on the way tonight. A Penn State meteorologist tweeted that State College got about 0.81 inches of rain in only 10 minutes. I’ll just let the following tweets give you an idea of how intense that storm just was:

Things are starting to recede, but yeah, it was ugly out there. If all of this looks familiar, it’s because it also happened almost exactly a year ago last summer on June 28, 2013, to an even greater effect. Stay safe, everyone.
